Established 1948 E. Faye Lummus 1922 - 2014 A.D. Lummus 1912 - 1992 A Celebration of Faye Lummus' life was held Wednesday afternoon, December 17, 2014 at Waples Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Roy Spore officiating. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas. Pallbearers were Zarrence Whitfield, Steve Avila, Mike Johnson, Christopher Johnson, and Kyle Neely. She was born on May 29, 1922 in Wolfe City, Texas, daughter of Paul and Bessie Crowell. She married A.D. Lummus on March 18, 1960, blending their 2 families. A.D. preceded her in death on February 17, 1992. Mrs. Lummus was a longtime member of Waples Methodist Church, the Criterion Sunday School Class, and the United Methodist Women. She is survived by her children: Don a nd Marilyn Lummus of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Ann and Sam Johnson of DeBerry, Texas; Chuck and Shirley Lummus of Sun City, Arizona; Jerry Lummus and Linda Bailey of Houston, Texas; Dorothy and Gary Hale and Judy and David Jeter of Denison, Texas; also her sister, Betty and husband, Mead Owens of Denison; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; infant daughter, Lori (Lynn) Lummus; her brothers, Edward, Clifton, and Paul, Jr.; and sister, Frances Kieschnick. Ronald Prince, former pastor of Parkside Baptist Church, officiated and interment was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. She had lived at 822 W. Shepherd for the past nine years. Mrs. Lummus died Tuesday, December 2, at 9:55 p.m., after a long illness. She was born in Atlanta, Texas, December 14, 1914, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Draper. She was married November 27, 1934, to A.D. Lummus. She was a member of Parkside Baptist Church and Sam Houston school PTA. Survivors are her husband, an employee of Dad & Lad's; her mother, Mrs. W.W. Draper, Atlanta; three sons, Don Lummus of Kermit; Jerry and Charles, Denison; a daughter, Odie Ann Lummus, Denison; a brother, C.C. Draper, Atlanta; and three sisters, Mrs. J.O. Beck, Texarkana, Mrs. Elsie Chesser, Atlanta; and Mrs. John LaSure, Grand Prairie.
