  Denison - Funeral arrangements for Ernest Jones, 89, who died Friday in a Denison hospital, are pending at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home. Jones, born September 15, 1888, lived at 618 W. Morgan St. in Denison. He was a director of the Katy Hospital group since 1919 and held that post more than twice as long as any other director. He was elected twice as President of that board. The senior general chairman of the United States of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way, a union of railroad employes engaged in track construction and maintenance, Jones held that post almost 50 years. He began railroad work in 1903 as a lamp tender. Jones was a long-time chairman of the American of General Chairman, involving several different categories of unions on the Katy. He was elected to that post in 1955. He was also president of the Katy Employes Mutual Benefit Association, an insurance group.
