Established 1948    The Herald Democrat June 21, 2009 Sherman - Funeral services for Kenneth Leon Jacobs, 85, of Sherman were held Monday afternoon, June 22, 2009 in Bratcher Funeral Home chapel in Denison. Rev. Danny Wood officiated and burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. He died Friday, June 19, 2009 in Wilson N. Jones Medical Center. He was born August 31, 1923 in Locust, son of Oscar James and Jewell Williams Jacobs. He married Nelda Arnold on April 2, 1945 in Denison, Texas. She died in 1997. Mr. Jacobs worked at Perrin Field from 1957 to 1972. After his retirement from Perrin, he went to work at Texas Instruments where he worked until he retired in 1985. He was a veteran of the Army Air Coprs from 1940-1944. He was a longtime member of Parkside Baptist Church, then West Sherman Baptist Church. Surviving are his son, Kenny Jacobs and wife, Kay, of Corpus Christi; daughter, Gayla McNatt and husband, Bill, of Nashville, Tennessee; sister, Levelle Sims of Lewisville, Texas; brother, Bobby Jacobs of Euless; grandchildren, Scott, Kelly, Toni and Bryan; and great-grandchildren, Ashton, Cameron, Triston, Luke, Samuel, Catherine and Shelby. He was preceded in death by a brother, C.O. Jacobs; and sister, Joan St. John. Pallbearers were Scott McNatt, Bryan Miller, Chad Cruise, Rodney Gray, Allen Jacobs, and Duke Jacobs.
