V. "Cracker" Jacobs died Friday, February 12, 2008 at Texoma Medical
Center. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, September 18,
2008 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Denison with Rev. Dan Gurley
officiating. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memoral Park. Cracker, who was born August 12, 1946, in Denison, was the son of Calvin E. and Lena Keller Jacobs. After his parents divorce, Cracker spent most of his childhood in the household of his maternal uncle, Leo Vernon Keller. Cracker went to Howe schools and was a 1964 graduate of Sherman High School. He married Paula Snyder on March 21, 1977 in Pottsboro. He owned and operated Grayson Business Machines in Denison for 10 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he was a member of the gospel group "Forgiven." Cracker was preceded in death by his father, Calvin E. Jacobs; his stepfather, George Cassetty; and his grandparents - (sic) actually uncle, his mother, was a half sister to Leo Vernon Keller) - who raised him; Leo and Addie Keller. Survivors include his wife of Denison; mother, Lena Cassetty of Vega; brothers, Larry Cassetty and wife, Debbie, of Garland; and Tony Cassetty of Vega; sister, Pat Green and husband, Tom, of Vega; sister-in-law, Linda McBrayer and husband, Jimmy, of Sherman.
