Established 1948 Ruby Mae James 24 March 1924 - 10 December 2009 Robert Lee James 5 February 1920 - 6 April 2010 Corporal US Army Air Forces WWII Sherman- Funeral services for Robert Lee James were held Monday April 12 at Waldo Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Reddell of the Central Christian Church and Rev. Steve Roberts of Harvest Time Assembly of God officiated. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with funeral honors conducted by the US Air Force. Mr. James, 90, passed away Tuesday, April 6 in the Texoma Healthcare Center in Sherman. Robert James was born February 5, 1920 in Van Alstyne, Texas to the late Alva Benton James and Cordie (Miller) James. On January 18, 1941, Mr. James and Ruby Mae Oliver were married in McKinney. Buster served three years in the US Air Force during World War II and was honorably discharged in December 1945. Mr. James worked as a fireman with the VA Hospital and was a member of the American Legion and Central Christian Church. Mr. James is survived by two daughters, Anita Pat Phillips of Sherman and Margaret Watt of Livermore, California; one son, Albert James of Reno, Nevada; one brother, Alva B. James Jr. of Dallas; one sister, Jerry McDearmon of Joshua, Texas; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Alma Ray; and his beloved wife of 68 years, Ruby Mae.
