Established 1948   Joyce Gayle House, 79, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, September 12, 2023 in Denison, Texas Joyce was born May 7, 1944 in Denison, Texas, daughter of Jessie Bert Grooms and Gladys Grooms of Denison. Joyce had a heart of gold and would help others any way she could. Joyce was retired and enjoyed video games and reading her Bible. She was loved by many and was "Mom" or "Meme" to most of them. Joyce leaves behind her sister: Linda Cox; son, Michael Ray House and wife, Katie; daughter, Patricia Lorene Wilson and husband, Mark; and Roberta "Robbie" Starr and husband, Bobby; grandchildren: William "Billy" Platt, Jessica Platt, Brittany Sexton, Kristina Pierson, Nathan Sexton, Bryton Starr; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson J. House; parents; brother, Sammy Grooms; sister, Carline "Connie' Strong; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, September 15, 2023 at Harvest Time Assembly of God in Sherman. Interment followed in Cedarlawn cemetery in Sherman.
