Established 1948   David Holt December 30, 2006 Services were held Wednesday afternoon, January 3, 2007 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Burial followed.   Sherman - Graveside funeral services for Tommy Lee Holt were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 22 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Chaplain David Taylor of Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ officiateed with military honors provided by the US Army. Pallbearers were Larry Brookshire, Steve LaFoy, Lance Rangel, Ricky Holt, Vance Holt and Bobby Danner. Mr. Holt, 79, passed away Wednesday, April 20, at Texoma Healthcare. Tommy was born January 13, 1932 in Sherman to the late John and Lydia (Hix) Holt. He and Grace Rigsby were married August 16, 1952 in Sherman. Tommy served in the US Army antiaircraft division in Riverside, California and was honorably discharged November 30, 1960. Mr. Holt worked for 38 years at Burlington Industries and later worked for 12 years in grounds maintenance for Sherman ISD, retiring in January 1997. Tommy was a devoted family man. He lived by the Golden Rule and tried to instill those values into his children and grandchildren. Mr. Hold is survived by his wife of 58 years, Grace, of Sherman; daughter, Reta Cooksey of Sherman; son, Terry Lee Holt and wife, Vicki, of Sherman; daughter, Kimberly Danner and husband, Bobby, of Sherman; eight grandchildren: Mark Cooksey, Amber Nuncio, Crystal Traweek, Sadie Holt, Chelsea Holt, Justin North, Holly North and Keegan Danner; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Doris O'Dell; and three brothers: James, Paul, and David Holt.
