Established 1948   Jerry Mark Hopper 2 January 1965 - 5 January 1965  Jerry L. Hopper, 78, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 at his residence. He was born July 17, 1940 in Howe, Texas, son of William "Hop" and Pauline Hopper. He attended and graduated from Denison High School in 1958. While in high school, Jerry played football and baseball. He met the love of his life, Beverly Walker, and they married on May 2, 1957. Jerry and Beverly had 4 children. Debbie Ferman and husband, Richard, of Sherman, Texas; Renee Vrana and Felton Smith of Denison, Texas; Gloria Monette Whipple and Scott Nicholas of Denison, Texas; and Jerry Mark (deceased). Jerry has 10 grandchildren and 12 grat-grandchildren - Monica Waters and husband, Jon, of Richardson, Texas and their children, Blake and Molly Valerie Ferman of Sherman, Texas, and her sons, Tristan and Trevor; Tiffany Oliphant of Sherman and her sons, Gavin and Preston; Erin Ferman of Richardson, Texas and her daughter, Grace; Sarah Ferman of Washington, D.C.; Jackie Evatt and husband, Chris, of San Angelo, Texas and their children, Carter and Cadence; Rachelle Franks and Kevin Cheairs of Bells, Texas and their children, Will, Hudson and Autumn; Colton Franks of Denison, Texas; Wade Whipple and wife, Tabitha, of Denison, Texas; Maddison Nicholas of Denison, Texas; Megan Leann and Aston Dejuan Hughes of Denison and their children, Kenslie Faith Goldston, A.J. Hughes, Jr. and Alana Grace Hughes. Jerry's career included several years with Lankford Roofing, Cole Services and Lowry Construction. Jerry loved to ride around in the country, pointing out where this aunt or that grandmother or where that cousin used to live. He knew all of the back roads in many counties and the locaton of towns most people have never heard of. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jerry Mark Hopper; his brother, Donald; his sisters, Paula and Peggy; and his beloved wife, Beverly. Jerry will also be remembered fondly by his sister-in-law, Kita Hempkins and husband, Robert, of Denison; sister-in-law, Kathleen Roberts and husband, Kevin, of Frisco, Texas; Aunt Dee Gainer and cousins, Pete Gainer-Young, Gary Medcalf, and Reggie Medcalf. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, November 20, 2018 at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home with Horace Groff officiating. Burial followed in Cedarlawn Cemetery. Serving as his pallbearers were Wade Whipple, David Lowry, Preston Oliphant, Mike Ciacco, Gavin Oliphant and Blake Waters.
