Hasten 1918 - 1990 Denison Herald Friday, January 26, 1990 Pottsboro -- Graveside service for Leon Cecil Hasten 71, of Pottsboro, who died today in a Dallas hospital, were Saturday afternoon at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home. Rev. William Forrest officiated. Hasten was born October 23, 1918, in Milford, son of Ernest C. and Sula Perry Hasten. He attended school in Martens and Italy, Texas. He married Helen Ruth Winkler December 20, 1941, in Ravenna. Hasten was a welder for United Transport Wood Industries in Irving and a member of the Teamsters Union in Dallas. He was a Baptist. Hasten served in the U.S. Navy from 1937-1940. Surviving are his wife; 2 sons, Leo of Pottsboro and Joe Olan of Arlington; daughter Ruth Annette Hasten of Oklahoma City; 3 brothers, R.C. of Ector, Leonard K. of Mertens, and William Perry of Ravenna; sister, Allene Mauldin of Bonham; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Cecil Carpenter, Bob Emanuel, Bill Langley, Jim Birdwell, J.C. Dennis and Bill Riner.
