Established 1948   The Herald Democrat June 4, 2012 DENISON - Gertrude A. Hargis, 89, passed away, Monday, November 21, 2011, at the Denison Manor. Graveside service were held 1 p.m., Friday, November 25, 2011, with Rev. Danny Wood officiating. Burial was at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home, Denison. Gertrude was born November 20, 1922, in Hagerman, Texas, to Christopher H. and Ida Bell Looper Odle. Mrs. Hargis married Clarence Hargis on December 1, 1951, in Calera, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death on November 6, 1990. She was a cafeteria worker at Memorial Hospital and a member of East Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to the SNAP Center. Mrs. Hargis survivor is her nephew Gary Odle of Denison. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, brothers R. H. Odle, Paul Odle and a sister Creola Freeman.
