DENISON – Dorothy Gayle "Sue" Gaines, 76, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at her home in Denison.
Funeral service were held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 6, 2011 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 2501 W. Morton St., Denison,
TX. 75020, with Rev. Rusty Denny officiating. Internment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, 5805 Texoma Parkway, Sherman, TX 75090.

Pallbearers were grandsons Shane Hill, Seth Bohlman, Nick Chacon, Louis Shull, Adron Douglas & Matt Clowers. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Tamio Nakumora & Noah Burden.
Sue was born to William & Agnes Murphy on December 2, 1934 in Ardoch, North Dakota. After a brief courtship, she married Morris Gaines in Wichita, Kansas on October 18, 1954 and together they moved to Denison in July of 1961. Sue worked for Texas Instruments in Sherman for 10 years, then retired to pursue a labor of love as a child care provider for nearly 45 years. She had a fun personality and was known to dress up as a bag lady at select events. An avid Texas Rangers fan, she never missed a game on television, fulfilled her dream of going to a game at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, where she received a foul ball and an even bigger dream of attending a playoff game during the Rangers' American League Championship season.
Devoted mother to Dena Hill of Sherman, James Gaines & wife Teresa of Luella, Cyndee Bohlman & husband Paul of Carrollton, Myndee Barron of Denison and Theresa Chacon & husband David of Garland. She extended her nurturing love to 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren & numerous children in the Denison area for whom she cared.
She is preceded in death by her father William Murphy; mother Agnes Murphy; sister Margaret Tillman; brothers Raymond, James & Dennis Murphy and nephew William Tillman.
Donations can be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Ladies' Auxiliary.
The family would like to thank Myla Welsh for her dedicated care, as well as Dr. Linda Castillo.
