Established 1948 Stanley H. Groce, 78, of Denison ascended to his eternal home Monday, July 11, 2022 at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas. Stanley H. Groce was born in Grayson County, Texas on February 19, 1944, son of Matthew Henry Groce and Willie Hazel Groce. He received his education from Terrell High School, Denison, Texas, class of 1962; attended Huston-Tillotson, Austin, Texas for 2 years, enlisted in the United States Air Forces and served 4 years. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Lock; they were married for 50 years. He accepted Christ at an early age and grew up in the Haven Chapel Methodist Church where he and his family were members. His occupation was as a paper boy for the Denison Herald; Tayton Tire (Oklahoma City), TI/MEMC, Texoma Medical and Culligan Water Company. He was a fan of the Denison Yellow Jackets and attended all games in and out of town for years. He loved fishing and camping; collecting trains was one of his passions. His father worked for the railroad, and he had the opportunity to take many rides on the train with his father. He also collected airplanes; the collection included many that were built by him. His parents, grandparents and sister, JoeAnn Groce-Mayberry preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories his very devoted wife, Dorothy Groce; brother, Samuel D. Groce and wife, Dorothy; loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral service was held Friday morning, July 15, 2022 in the Waldo Funeral Chapel with Rev. Alton E. Blakely officiating. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas. Arrangements were entrusted to James E.
