Established 1948   Graveside services for Jerrel Dean Gilliam, of Sherman, who died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Preston House Assisted Living, were held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011, at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Lander Bethel of Grand Avenue Presbyterian Church officiated. Dannel Funeral home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Gilliam was born March 23, 1923, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Martha Ellen (Little) and Robert Taylor Stout. After graduating high school, she attended Oklahoma A&M College. Mrs. Gilliam married Stephen H. Gilliam, Jr. on April 3, 1943, in Edinburg, Texas. She was a member of Grand Avenue Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Gilliam is survived by two sons: Jimmy Earl Gilliam and wife Irina of Palestine, Texas; and Tommy Ray Gilliam of Whitewright; grandsons: Jeremy Gilliam and Steven Gilliam; and granddaughter Evgeniya "Jane" Oryol. She is predeceased by her husband Stephen H. Gilliam, Jr.; and daughter-in-law Sami Gilliam.
