Established 1948   Sherman Democrat February 27, 1962 pg 2 Howe - Abe Green, 54, of Howe, a carpenter and contractor, died 6:40 a.m. in Sherman hospital, after an illness of five months. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Barrett Funeral chapel, Sherman. Rev. Roy Cloud, pastor of the Howe Baptist Church, and Rev. C. J. Graves, pastor of Friendship Methodist Church, conducted the services. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Green was born February 14, 1908 in Howe, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Green. On May 21, 1927, he married Miss Myra Keller in Van Alstyne. He was a member of the Baptist church. He served with the Seabees during World War II. Before that time he had operated a restaurant in Howe. After returning from the service, he went into the grocer business. In 1963 he went into the contracting business. Survivors are his wife, a brother, George Green of Sherman, and a number of nieces and nephews.
