Established 1948    Sylverter Norton Floyd 11 November 1908 - 25 November 1995 PFC US Army WWII Sherman Democrat November 28-29, 1908 Sylvester Floyd was born in Denison, son of Aubrey Franklin Floyd and Betty Mills Floyd. He married his childhood sweetheart, Beulah Mae Tallant, on July 23, 1926 in Denison, Texas. They were married for 51 years until her death in 1977. He and Beulah had one son, Aubrey Andrew Floyd and 2 grandchildren. He was a World War II veteran who saw combat in the Pacific, serving in the U.S. Army. After Beulah died, he married Artie Rush ing, who was a childhood friend of both he and Beulah. "Syl" was a member of the Denison Eagles. He died in his home and was survived by his wife, Artie; his son and daughter-in-law, Aubrey and Shirley Floyd; 2 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Graveside service were officiated by Rev.
