Established 1948 Norma Ann Farrer, 77, of Sherman passed away on July 17, 2011, at her residence. Dannel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Services wereheld at Chapel on the Hill with interment following in Cedarlawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Norma was born on November 16, 1933 in Bells, Texas to James and Annie Laurie (McGill) Washburn, raised in Sherman, and attended Sherman schools. After High School, she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. From there she went to work for M&P Bank as secretary to Mr. Sale Omohundro, Sr.; then continued as secretary to the president of the bank for 43 years until her retirement. She also served as secretary to the Board of Directors; and was an officer in the Secretary Association. As a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Norma served in many roles and capacities. Norma loved to travel all over Europe with her husband, sister, brother-in-law and friends. She enjoyed going to Dallas Summer Musicals and going out to eat with her husband and friends. She cherished her dogs Ben and Barney. Norma took pleasure in planning parties for Bob's activities at Grayson County College. She enjoyed life, and will be missed. Mrs. Farrer is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Farrer whom she married on March 21, 1981; son Jonathan Scott Farrer and wife Nicole of Virginia Beach, Virginia; sister Carolyn Russell and husband Gerald E. of Sherman; niece Laurie Russell; nephews Jim Russell and Jay Russell; grandnieces Courtney Murphy, Ashley Murphy, Amber Russell, Brittany Russell, Natalie Russell and Nadyah Russell' and grandchild Katlyn Farrer. Pallbearers were Tom Stevens, Sale Omohundro, Buddy Moore, David Young, Bob Harris and Joe Hicks.
