Fielder 18 November 1940 - 1 March 1977 Sherman Democrat March 6, 1977 Graveside services were held Monday in Cedarlawn Cemetery for Ernest Edward Fielder, 36, who died Tuesday near Platter Flats, Oklahoma. Funeral directions were under the direction of the Dannel-Horton-Barrett Funeral Home. He was found shot to death and law enforcement officers are investigating the case. Born in Sherman, he was the son of Vester and Erma Lee Stipe Fielder. He attended the Sherman Public Schools and had served several years in the U.S. Army. He was a Baptist. He is survived by his parents of Cartwright, Oklahoma; sisters, Mrs. John Forsythe, Emma Jean Fielder, and Linda Kay Thorton, all of Sherman; and Terry Arnold of Denison. Sherman Democrat June 23, 1981 Graveside services for Mrs. Erma Lee Fielder, 65, of Cartwright, Oklahoma, who died Monday in a Denison hospital, were held Wednesday in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Bill Robinson of Platter Baptist Church officiated, with arrangments under the direction of Dannel and Horton Funeral Home. Born April 17, 1916 in Aurora, Missouri, she was the daughter of Richard and Rosalie Bassham Stipe and attended Sherman schools. She moved to Cartwright ten years ago from Howe and was a member of the Platter Baptist Church. Survivng are her husband, Vester, of Cartwright; daughters, Mrs. John Forsythe and Miss Emma Jean Fielder, both of Sherman; Mrs. Robert Thornton of Bailey; and Mrs. Jerry Nabors of Melissa; brothers, Roy Stipe of Cartwright; and Floyd Stipe of Grand Prairie; sisters, Mrs. L.G. Tribble of Luella; Mrs. A.B. Williamson of Dallas; Miss Virginia Stipe of Cartwright; Mrs. Robbie Sailers and Mrs. John Barhan, both of Midlothian; Mrs. W.A. Ingram of Wichita Falls; Mrs. James J. Speak of Dallas; Mrs. Paul J. Knapp of Reston, Virginia; and Mrs. John Floeter of Hudson, New York; and 11 grandchildren. Sherman Democrat December 11, 1988 Sherman - Graveside service for Vester Fielder, 70, who died Wednesday in his residence, were held Monday in Cedarlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. Rev. Lester Scally officiated. Fielder was born July 14, 1918, in Gunter, son of Ben and Neta Norton Fielder. He married Erma Lee Stipe on July 15, 1939 in Sherman. Mrs. Fielder preceded him in death on July 22, 1981. Fielder was a Baptist and attended schools in Gunter. After retiring from the cities of Richardson and McKinney as superintendent of grounds maintenance, he moved to Sherman in 1982. Survivors include four daughters Barbara Forsythe and Erma Jean Fielder, both of Longview; Linda Thorton of Lone Oak; Terry Blount of Sherman; three sisters, Almeda Goode and Jackie Hold of Gainesville;and Jenelle Adams of Whitesboro; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
