 James Arnold Edgett, 80, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Sherman, Texas. Funeral services were held Friday, August 25, 2017 at Cedarlawn Chapel on the Hill with Pastor Roy Webster officiating. James was born Wednesday, February 17, 1937, son of Arthur and Addie Lou Winburn Edgett in Denison, Texas. He loved baseball and golf and played for the American Legion Baseball League. He was a past member of the Denton JC's. He loved watching his grandchildren play baseball every time they played. He played a lot of golf with friends after he retired from GTE as a Senior Engineer. James is preceded in death by his son, Dale Edgett; daughter, Donna Schneider; brother, Richard Edgett; sister, Lorrine Shirley; and his parents. He is survived by son, Mark Edgett of Gainesville, Texas; brother, Tom Edgett and wife Wanda of Grand Saline, Texas; grandchildren Cheri Browder and husband Rick of Sherman, Texas; Starla Kirk and husband Jason; Kris Edgett and wife Shelly of Sherman, Texas; Angela Holbrook and husband Ben of Sherman, Texas; Michael Edgett and wife Mandie; Casey Edgett and wife Carla; and numerous great-grandchildren.
