Denison –
J.T. Draper, 80-year-old Denison resident, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at
his residence.
Services
will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel in Denison.
Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Draper
was born on Oct. 25, 1924, in Pilot Point, Texas, son of Cyras James and Gertha
Capps Draper. On Oct. 9, 1943, he married Pauline Gregory in Colbert, Oklahoma.
He was a
member of Calvary Baptist Church in Denison. He was a World War II U.S. Army
veteran. He retired from Phillips Petroleum after 25 years of service. He then
started Draper Electric Company in Fritch, Texas, and retired in 1984, moving
to Denison that year. While in Fritch, Texas, he was on the city council, fire
chief and ambulance driver for 20 years. He worked in Little League in Fritch
and was a member of the Fritch Lions Club. He was a tireless worker in Meals on
Wheels in Denison and a deacon in the Baptist church for more than 50 years.
Pallbearers
will be Roy Woods, Paul Spears, Troy Edmiaston, Walter Knight, Clyde Todd and
Bryan Draper.
Surviving
are his wife, Pauline Draper of Denison; two sons, Larry Draper and wife,
Debbie and Kenny Draper and wife, Lori, all of Coppell; three sisters, Retha
Faye Duckworth of Weatherford, Gertha Lee Sears of Denison and Margaret Clark
of Victoria; daughter-in-law, Lyncia Langdon of Waxahachie; six grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by a son, J.T. Draper Jr.

Pauline
Draper, 95, of Denison, Texas passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020.
She was born May 9, 1925 in Achille, Oklahoma, Services were held
at Bratcher Funerl Home in Denison, Thursday morning, December 17,
2020. Graveside services followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.
