Established 1948 Monday, August 10, 1992 Denison - Mildred Banks Dunning, 77, died August 8, 1992 in Texoma Medical Center. Funeral was today at 11 a.m. in Johnson-Moore Chapel, with Revs. Dudley Dancer and Mike Pullian officiating. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Dunning, a Texas resident since 1937, was born December 17, 1914 in Jasper, Alabama, daughter of James McClain and Willie Lee Fair Banks. She attended Walker County, Alabama schools and married Howard C. Smith in 1936 in Jasper, Alabama. She married Charles B. Dunning September 7, 1964 in Dallas. Mrs. Dunning retired from Bealls Department Store in 1976 after 16 years service. She was a member of Waples Memorial United Methodist Church and Three Bells #305, Rebekah Lodge. Surviving are her husband; son, Stephen Wayne Smith of San Antonio; 2 daughters, Barbara Smith Liston of Grand Prairie; and Bettye Smith Darrow of Montgomery, Alabama; stepdaughter, Janette Dunning Williford of Houston; 3 brothers, Leon F. Banks of New Franklin, Missouri; Charles Banks of Columbus, Mississippi; Mack E. Banks of West Point, Mississippi; 3 sisters, Mavis Holman of Seattle, Washington; Frances White of West Point, Mississippi; Jimmie Lee Nava of Atlanta, Georgia; 9 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and 4 step-great-granddaughters. Pallbearers were grandsons and step-grandsons, Duane, Dana and Daran Darrow, David Earl and Paul Wayne Liston; Steven, Michael and Hal Williford; and Rusty B. Smith.
