Denison — Funeral services for Frank R. Drake, 79, who died Sunday
morning in a local hospital [Denison Memorial Hospital], were held Tuesday
afternoon in Johnson Moore Funeral Home. Rev. Joe Dee Ray and Rev. L.D.
Lamb officiated. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Drake, a resident of Denison for 38 years, was born March 21, 1894, in
Wichita, Kansas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Densil Drake. He attended Southwestern
[Oklahoma] State College. He was married April 9, 1935, in Hitchcock, Oklahoma, to
Opal Mae Likes. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Denison
Arts and Crafts Society, and was employed as a wholesale distributor.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Dennis Drake, of Austin; 2 daughters,
Mrs. Margaret Campbell of Oklahoma City, and
Mrs. Dorothy Bodsphord of
Washington, D.C.; and 2 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Marvin Barrett, R.H. Odel, Clayton Smith, James
Phillips, O.E. McFarland, and Joe Velcik.
