Established 1948  Denison-Sherman Herald June 9, 1996 DENISON - Funeral for Elwood Duckett, 73, of Denison, who died June 9, 1996, at Texoma Medical Center, was held Tuesday afternoon in Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Keith Taylor officiatee. Burial wias in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Duckett was born July 21, 1922, at Denison, son of William Spurgen and Ruth Lankford Duckett. He married Joyce McLain June 12, 1948, at Denison and was a retired in 1978 as a engineer for MK&T Railroad. Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Denison; a son, David Duckett of Chickasha, Oklahoma; a daughter, Marilyn Lay of Denison; a sister, Frances Sweeney of Denison; 4 grandchildren; and special friends Tommy and Kathy Lightfoot and children. Pallbearers were Jackie Murrell, Jerry Caylor, Bill Massenburg, Phil Shaffer, Gary W. Banks, Mike Faulkner, J.B.
