Alfred Victor Dube, 87, died December 1, 2018 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
Mr. Dube was born at May 5, 1931 in McDade, Texas, the second son of Alfred Ludwig Dube and Henrietta Anna Seagert Dube.  He attended Elgin High school, served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, then went on to have a career in upholstery and furniture repair for 48 years.
He married Alta Gene Young on April 18, 1953 in Harlingen.  They met while he was visiting relatives in Primera, Texas, and he introduced himself on a dare.  Corresponding for 3-1/2 years (most of which he was servin gin the Navy) they met in person only four times before they married.
Mr. Dube has been a resident of Sherman since 1955.
He is survived by his wife; children, Glenn (Gloria) of Sherman; Don (Denise) of Ft. Worth; and Vickie Seames (Ed) of Durham, North Carolina; 6 grandchildren, Lindsay Johnson (Justin) of Ft. Worth; Jeana Parsons (Michael) of Achille, Oklahoma; Kevin Dube (Coye) of Grand Prairie, Texas; Stacy Bray (Blake) of Denison; Anna Shumake (Andy) of Texarkana; and Alexander Seames of Arlington; 9 great-grandchildren, Coryanne Turner, Michael Brett Parsons, III; Azaria Dube; Kathryn Parsons; Eaton Johnson; Zayden Bray; Luke Parsons; Levi Parson; and River Dube.
He is also survived by his brothers, Wallace (Coreen) of Sequin; David (Jeanette) of McDade; and Walter (Carolyn) of McDade; in additon to many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Dube has been a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Denison since 1955.  He enjoyed fixing any and everything, gardening, and meeting people.  During the 1970s and 1980s he was active in the Citizen Band Radio community attending many gatherings and serving as an officer in the local chapter.  One of Mr. Dube's favorite activities was to spend time with family.
Services were held Friday morning at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Mattil officiating.  Pallbears were his grandsons and grandsons-in-law.  Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.  In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 2411 Woodlake Rd., Denison, Texas 74021. - - - Waldo Funeral Home


Alta Gene Dube, 90, of Sherman died January 13, 2020 at Beacon Hill in Denison.  Mrs. Dube was born September 23, 1929 in Harlingen, Texas, daughter of Rex Rosser Young and Elva Mae Hevron Young.  She attended Primera High School, A&I College in Kingsville and Durham Business College in Harlingen.  She was employed as a bookkeeper by Texas Reserve Insurance Company in Harlingen and Pioneer Insurance in Boston, Massachusetts.  In addition to being a homemaker and occasionally working outside the home, she worked alongside her husband in the upholstery business for many years.
She married Alfred Victor Dube on April 18, 1953 in Harlingen.  They met while Alfred was visiting relatives in Primera, Texas when he introduced himself to her on a dare.  They corresponded for 3-1/2 years (most of which Alfred was serving in the Navy) meeting in person only 4 times before they married.  Mrs. Dube has been a resident of Sherman since 1955.
She is survived by her children: Glenn (Gloria) of Sherman and Vickie Seames (Ed) of Rock Hill, South Carolina; 6 grandchildren: Lindsay Johnson (Justin) of Ft. Worth; Jeana Parsons (Michael) of Achille, Oklahoma; Kevin Dube (Coye) of Grand Prairie; Stacy Bray (Blake) of Sherman; Anna Shumake (Andy) of Texarkana; and Alexander Seames of Aurora, Colorado; 9 great-grandchildren: Corynne Turner; Michael Brett Parsons III; Azaria Dube; Kathryn Parsons; Easton Johnson; Zayden Bray; Luke Parsons; Levi Parsons; and 2 more on the way as well as daughter-in-law, Denise Dube, of Ft. Worth.  She is also survived by her younger brother, Willard Young, of Uvalde, Texas; and many other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband; son, Don Dube; her parents; and younger brothers, Troy Young and Odis Young.
Mrs. Dube has been a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Denison since 1955 and was active in the church's quilting group for many years.  Her favorite activities included spending time with family and friends; sewing and doing craft projects.  In recent years she made and gave away thousands of beaded cross necklaces and key chains.
Services were held Friday morning, January 17, 2020 at Grace Lutheran Church in Denison with Rev. Michael Mattil officiating.  Pallbearers included grandsons and grandsons-in-law and a great grandson.  Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund of Grace Lutheran Church, 2411 Woodlakd Rd., Denison, Texas 75021. - - - Waldo Funeral Home
