Established 1948 Madison County Register Huntsville, Arkansas October 13, 2005 Harold James Dodson, 87, passed away October 2, 2005 at his home in Denison, Texas. Dodson owned a home in Madison County. Dodson was born April 21, 1918 in Sherman, Texas, son of Ed and Norma Bowman Dodson. Harold married Elsie Thomas on May 14, 1938 in Durant, Oklahoma. He later married Patsy Chandler on October 22, 1982 in Denison, Texas. Harold proudly served in the Navy on the USS Berrein, where he received a Purple Heart. Harold was an avid hunter. He worked for C. Overaa and Co. in Oakland for 29 years, as a commercial builder. He continued to work as a master craftsman through his retirement. He had a great love for building and working with his hands. Harold was a member of the carpenter's local #152 in Oakland, the Lions and Elks Lodge. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Harold is survived by his wife, Patsy Dodson, of Denison; daughter, Linda Loya and husband, Pete, of Boise, Idaho; step-daughter, Cathye Lazenby and husband, Jerry, of Denison; and Carole Tanner of Denison; grandchildren, Barbie Poston, Nancy Capiz, Joseph Viveiros, Amber Wilhite, Kyle Lazenby, Clayton Stokes, and Hunter Stokes; great-grandchildren, Shelby Poston and Kimi Strain; son-in-law, Elson Viveiros of Danville, California; sister, Margaret Adams of Ft. Worth; 2 brothers, Ed Dodson of Dallas and E.L. Hash of Colorado. Dodson was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Pat Viveiros. Graveside services were held Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman with Pastor Larry Goodwin officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas.
