The Denison Press Friday, February 12, 1954 pg. 2 Funeral services for Thomas Preston Darnell, 46, of San Francisco, California, were held at the Bratcher-Moore chapel Thursday morning with Rev. Ronald Prince officiating and interment at Cedarlawn Cemetery. Darnell was the son of Mrs. Sallie Darnell and brother of Frank Darnell, both of Sherman. He had lived in California about 12 years. His death was the result of a heart attack. Darnell was born in Lewisburg, Texas, September 6, 1907, the son of Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Darnell. He received his schooling in Denison and was married in Reno, Nevada July 25, 1948 to Mrs. Katie Mae Thomas. He was a member of the first Baptist church here and was engaged in hotel work in San Francisco. Survivors include his widow, 1111 Pine, San Francisco, California; his mother and brother in Denison; a son, Jerry Thomas Darnell of San Franciso; two brothers, Major Ralph Darnell, Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; and Marvin Darnell, Galveston; two sisters, Mrs. Clyde Burton, Amarillo; and Mrs. Jack Kernan, Hobbs, New Mexico.
