Established 1948 Frances Olean Davis, 87, passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2022.
Olean was born on February 6, 1935, daughter of Harley and Bertie Jones in Childress, Texas. She remained in Childress until she married William Ross Davis, Jr. on May 23, 1955 at which time she gained a son. While traveling the world to support her husband's service to his countr y, s he gave birth to 3 children, a daughter and 2 sons. Her greatest joy was her work as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She attended the birth of every grandchild and great-grandchild with the exception of the most recent born several weeks ago, which is an impressive feat considering it required her to travel ranging from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Lewisville, Texas, and as far as Guam. She supported her family through their many passions and trials in life, and her wit, sarcasm, and sense of humor were a blessing to all who loved her. Olean will forever be remembered as a magician in the kitchen and the consummate caretaker of children. She spent more than 20 y ears as Ms. Olean to all the Kiddie Kampus Kids. She enjoyed her time there so much that she returned after retirment a nd then had to retire again. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Gary Davis; and her sisters, Lavon Wilson and Melba Speir. She is survived by her children: Luke Davis and wife, Sheila; and Diane Hawkins and husband, Rick, all of Denison, Texas; and Harley Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her sister, Mary Jo Ransom of Bonham, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Maury Cutts and husband, Brandon; Mandi Mathews and husband, Jacob; Lindsay Kingsbury and husband, Clayton; Holly Carr and husband, Dan; Ross Davis and Sophia Sanchez; and Ryan Davis and wife, Courtney. She especially loved her great-grandchildren: Riley, Bryce, Preston, Ethan, Jada, Bryson, Jenna, Hayden, Jace and Tucker. She also leaves behind countless other cherished family members and friends who loved her. Services were held at Fisher Funeral Home in Denison, Texas on Tuesday morning, April 26, 2022. Graveside followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas.
