RITES WEDNESDAY FOR WES DAVIS
Services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Waldo Funeral Chapel for Wesley William Davis, 72, lifelong native of Howe, who died at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 1970 at a Sherman nursing home.  Services were conducted by Dr. Tom Brandon, pastor of the First Baptist Church, with burial in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Davis was born November 30, 1897 at Howe, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Davis.  He attended Howe public schools and had lived his entire life in the Howe community.  He was first married to the former Miss Myrtle Scoggins in November 1920, who died in 1938.  He was married to Flora Mae Bagby on November 24, 1943 in Sherman.  He had been a farmer-stockman all his life, retiring a short time ago.  He was a former member of the Howe school board and was a member of the Sherman First Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife of Howe; one son, Billy Frank Davis of Denison; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph Brodhead of Sherman; one step-daughter, Mrs. Jack Aderholt of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Tolbert of Howe and Mrs. Leslie Coleman of Howe; one half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Hood of Sherman; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were M.A. Arnold, Fred Willis, Forrest Peveto, Arlie Mode, Arthur Dietrich and Costa Morrow.
