Established 1948 Pottsboro - Graveside services were held Saturday afternoon, November 23, 2013 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Tim Hankins officiated. Mr. Cox passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at Lake Texoma near Pottsboro. Troy was born May 26, 1928 in Gunter, son of James Lee Cox and Gladys Jamison Cox. He married Bobbie Jo Donoho on January 31, 1953 in Sherman, Texas. Troy served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korea War. He worked from 1976 - 1986 as the Post Master of Sherman. After his postal service, he went on to work as a realtor for Dean Gilbert Realtors. Troy enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Texoma Bass Club and the Lions Club. Troy is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jo Cox, of Pottsboro; his son, Mike Cox and wife, Suzanne, of Bells; daughter, Dianne Hale and husband, Kelly, of Sherman; grandchildren, Justin Walston, Jamie Reason, Jonathan Cox, and Justin Hale; great-grandchildren, Maleigha Reason and Trae Reason; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org. Bobbie Jo Donoho Cox went to be with Jesus at 4:30 a.m. November 8, 2022. She was surrounded by 3 generations of family. Bobbie was born January 26, 1933 in Van Alstyne, daughter of Ralph and Mary Donoho. While working at Hardwick Etter she met the love of her life, Troy Co. Troy and Bobbie were married in Sherman on January 31, 1953. Bobbie and Troy welcomed 3 children into the world: Darlene, Dianne and Michael. Bobbie was a PTA leader, Bluebird and Campfire leader, Boy Scout leader and a chauffeur for us kids. Bobbie retired from Oscar Meyer after 17 years and was soon diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2000. We have had our ups and downs, but we made it through them all. Bobbie is survived by her children: Michael and wife, Suzanne; Dianne and husband, Kelly Hale; grandchildren: Justin Walston, Jonathan Cox, Jamie and Joey Reason and Justin and Tara Hale; great-grandchildren: Maleigha, Trae, CJ and Rowan Reason; Sophia and Daniel Hale; as well as a special bonus great-grandson, Brice Benton and great-great-granddaughter, Anna Stoyer; sister, Joy and Bob Bennett; brother, Eldon Donoho; sisters-in-law, Jonelle Donoho and Kathy Cox, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Darlene; sister, Geneva and brothers, Tommy, Ralph and Gary.
