Established 1948   Martha "Lou" Coffman 8 October 1947 - 30 August 2010 Jim Coffman 7 June 1944 -   Herald Democrat September 2, 2010 DENISON - Martha Lou Coffman, age 62, entered into eternal life Monday, August 30, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Coffman was born October 8, 1947 in Denison, daughter of J.D. and Edith West Beard. Lou married the love of her life, Jim Coffman March 2, 1964 at Perrin AFB in Denison. She was a switchboard operator for American Bank of Texas. Lou enjoyed writing poetry and cooking for her family. Lou loved her family and always put their needs first. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and daughter. Lou will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Coffman is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jim Coffman of Denison; sons, Kevin Coffman of Denison and Billy Sherman; grandson, Josh Coffman of Stillwater, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Jessica Smith and husband, Greg, of Whitesboro, Jillian Coffman of Whitewright; and Kaylee Coffman; and her mom, Amy, of Sherman; mother, Edith Beard of Denison; sister, Barbara Sims, of Denison; and friend, Dianne Stoutm of Denison. Lou was preceded in death by her father, J.D. Beard and grandmother, Nannie West. Funeral services were held Thursday morning, September 2, 2010 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Arnold officiating. Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Pallbearers were Josh Coffman, Jack Bornheim, Lyndon Nix, Mark Davis, Matt Hughs and Royce Dawson. Honorary pallbearers were Dustin Dawson, Jamie Dawson and James Sims. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Home Hospice of Grayson County, 505 West Center, Sherman, Texas 75090. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 West Main in Denison.
