Established 1948 Alan Meridan Curry, 89, entered into eternal life Saturday, August 25, 2018 at his home in Denison. Mr. Curry was born December 27, 1928 in Mart, Texas, son of Harold Marion and Iris Ione Jennings Curry. Alan graduated in 1949 from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Lawless, November 27, 1950. He served his country proudly in the US Air Force during the Korean War. For 16 years he was a quality control manager for Johns Manville Company. He enjoyed wood carving, old cars (especially his Model A), and watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Aggies play football. The great joys of his life were his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his love for Jesus Christ. Alan was a member of Parkside Baptist Church. Mr. Curry leaves behind his beloved family: sons, Lanny Curry and wife, Lynda, of Garland; Monty Curry and wife, Kathy, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Terry Goodin and husband, Garry, of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren, Jennifer Howard and husband, Joshua; David Goodin; Michelle Goodin; Krista Singleton and husband, Blake; Kelsey Curry; and Matthew Curry and wife, Melanie; great-grandchildren, Delancey Howard; Desmond Howard and Liam Singleton; sister, Martha Ann Duke and husband, Tom, of Denton; brother, Billy Tom Curry and wife, Pat, of Mart, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and sister, Mary Ruth Childs, Funeral services were held Friday, August 30, 2018 at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Aushburn officiaitng. Interment followed with Military Honors at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. - - - Fisher Funeral Home Barbara Jean Curry, 84, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Sunday, February 12, 2017 at her home in Denison. Mrs. Curry, daughter of Julius and Edna Mae Row Lawless, was born July 9, 1932 in Midland, Texas. Barbara met and married Alan M. Curry November 17, 1950. She attended college at San Marcos State College and North Texas State College, where she majored in music. Barbara had many hobbies and talents. She taught piano and played the organ and piano for Parkside Baptist Church. She also liked to crochet, do photography, go camping, care for her plants, and cook. Barbara was a member of the Denison Service League and Guild of Piano Teachers Hall of Fame. She had a loving heart and was a cheerleader for whatever her three children were doing. The great joys of her life were her family and her faith in Jesus Christ; she accepted Him as her Lord and Savior at the age of 21. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and daughter, caring for her mother for many years. Mrs. Curry leaves behind her beloved family: husband of 66 years; sons, Lanny Curry and wife, Lynda, of Garland; and Monty Curry and wife, Kathy, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Terry Goodin and husband, Garry, of Macon, Georgia. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren: Jennifer Howard and husband, Joshua; David Goodin; Krista Singleton and husband, Blake; Kelsey Curry; Matthew Curry; and Michelle Goodin; and one great-grandchild, Delancey Howard.
