Established 1948 Herald Democrat December 2, 2012 NORTH RICHLAND HILLS - Vinnie Mae "Maisie" Cobb, 89, of North Richland Hills passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 in Grapevine, with her children and grandchildren by her side. Maisie was born December 18, 1922 in Pottsboro. She grew up in Denison before moving to North Richland Hills in 1967 with her husband, Delmer Lee Cobb Jr., whom she married in 1950. Mr. Cobb passed away in 1974. She spent many years working for Eckerd Drugs in the North Richland Hills area before retiring. Maisie was known affectionately to her grandchildren as "Mema" and met many people throughout her life to whom she said "You can just call me 'Mema.'" She had many hobbies such as gardening, reading her Bible and her favorite, crocheting. Maisie was a very spiritual woman and an active member of Lakeland Baptist Church of North Richland Hills. She was constantly contributing her crocheted blankets and hats to those in need. Some of her favorite songs included "Amazing Grace" and "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." Ms. Cobb is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Gary and Sue Chappell of Grapevine and Bill and Janyce Cobb of Houston; 3 grandchildren and their spouses: Scott Chappell of Frisco; Brandy Herbison of Frisco; and Cynthia Ann Oelkers of Austin; and 4 great-grandchildren whom she exhibited great pride in each and every day: Weston, Corinne, Carter, and Taylor. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Delmer Cobb Jr.; her mother Keziah Tyler Buchanan; her father Vernie Edward Erwin; and 10 brothers and sisters. Maisie was an inspiration to everyone she met, even up to the final days of her wonderful life. She was laid to rest at a graveside service Saturday morning, December 1, 2012 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Sherman. Officiating was Pastor Leland Samuelson.
