Established 1948 Louise R. Crockett 1932 - 2012 Cecil R. Crockett 1930 - 2022 The Herald Democrat March 26, 2012 Sherman, Texas - A Celebration of Life for Louise R. Crockett, 79, were held Wednesday afternoon, March 28, 2012 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Jack Crockett, nephew officiated. Louise was born September 10, 1932 in Mayo, South Carolina, daughter of John and Beulah Merrill and went into the presences of the Lord on Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Sherman. Louise was a graduate of Wesleyan Methodist College in South Carolina. She married the love of her life, Cecil R. Crockett, on January 11, 1953 in the Fairview Baptist Church, Sherman, Texas. Louise worked as a real estate agent at Tom Willis Realty for 21 years. She was a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at WNJ Hospital and of the Fairview Baptist Church. Louise loved to sew and spend traveling in many countries. Her greatest joy was being with her family and best friends, Carol Stone and Imanelle Howell. Louise was preceded in death by her parents and 9 siblings. She is survived by her loving husband of Sherman; sons, Kenneth Crockett and wife, Maureen of Austin, Texas and Steven Crockett of Stuart, Florida and wife, Rebecca, of Royal Palm Beach; daughter, Tony Pitts of Sherman; grandchildren: Ashley Elliott of Arlington, Texas; Tyler Pitts and girlfriend, Chey Barton, of Sherman; Matthew Crockett of Florida; Nicholas, Clarissa and Mia Crockett of Austin; adopted grandchildren: Michael Barnhart, Jr.; Blake Fullenwider, Cruz Hernandez, and Kenyon West, all of Sherman; Jesse Franks of Howe, Texas; Danielle Herrera of Florida; and John Barber of Denison; a great-grandchild, Alexis Elliott-Hale of Frisco, Texas; brother, Isaac Merrill of South Carolina; sisters, Ruth Haycock of Oregon, and Grace Prince of Georgia; special niece, Paula Prince Barnes of Georgia; and best friends, Carol Stone of Whitesboro and Imannelle Howell of Sherman. Pallbearers were Tyler Pitts, Blake Fullenwider, Michael Barnhart, Jr., Cruz Hernandez, Jesse Franks, and John Barber. She often quoted as saying, "Every cloud has a silver lining." Services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Sherman, Texas - A celebration of life for Cecil R. Crockett, 92, was held Tuesday afternoon, August 30, 2022 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Ceil was born August 11, 1930 in Pocasset, Oklahoma, son of James E. and Molly Mae Crockett. He went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 25, 2022 with family members by his side. Cecil was enlisted and later was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps as a Purple Heart reciepent of the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Louise R. Crockett on January 11, 1953 at the Fairview Baptist Church in Sherman, Texas. Cecil worked for the Katy Railroad for many years until he retired. Cecil loved spending time with his wife, doing fun things, as well as raising quarter horses with his daughter, Tonya while she was growing up. His greatest joy was being with his family and hanging out with his closest friend and neighbor, Kenneth Lindsey. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings, Jack and Fred Crockett. Cecil is survived by 3 children, Kenneth R. Crockett and wife, Marueen of Austin; Steven R. Crockett and wife, Rebecca of Florida. His daughter, Tonya, who was also his caregiver, and husband, Daniel, of Sherman. Grandchildren: Ashley R. Elliott of Sherman; grandson Tyler Pitts and wife, Jessica, of Denison; Matthew Crockett of Florida; and Parker Crockett of Florida. Four great-grandchildren: Alexis, Alani, Jaxson and Kashton. And his best friend, Foster Adopted grandchildren Mike Barnhart, Blake Fullenwider, Cruz Hernandez, Daniel Herrera, Kevin Addison, Randi Lewis, Amanda White and Monica Cooper, who as well helped with Cecil until he passed.
