February 27. 1996 DENISON – Graveside services for Ossie I. Coats, 87, of Denison, who died at Denison Manor Nursing Home, were held Tuesday morning at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Carol Norton officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home. Survivors include a sister, May Eldredge of Denison; and two brothers, H. B. Coats and Paul Coats, both of Sherman, Texas. Neiman Brett Coats was born in Sherman, Texas, son of H.B. and Helen Horn Coats. He died in Cartwright, Oklahoma. He attended Sherman schools and was a 9-year-veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. At the time of his demise, he was employed by Ferrell Construction Co. of Denison, Texas. He is survived by his father and step-mother, H.B. and Rosemary Coats of Sherman; mother and step-father, Helen and Louis Barron of Sherman; sister, Leslie Fulmer of Howe, Texas; step-brothers, John Barron of San Diego, California; Bill Barron of Sherman; Martin Lane Smith of Atlanta, Georgia and Christopher Smith of Dallas. Memorial services were conducted by Dr. Don Wood of Fairview Baptist Church in S herman. He was laid next to his paternal grandparents, Homer Byron and Cordellia Frances Coats.
