Established 1948 Donald Eugene Crowell 15 February 1939 - 7 March 2018 SN US Navy Vietnam Funeral services for Don Crowell, 79 of Lindale, Texas, were held Monday morning, March 12, 2018 in the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale with Rev. Lewis Pollard officiating. Masonic graveside services followed in the afternoon at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas with Pastor Brett Castle officiating with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral home. Don died Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in a Tyler, Texas hospice center. He was born in Denison, Texas on February 15, 1939, son of Herman W. and Mabel L. Jennings Crowell and was a longtime resident of Lindale. Don served in the United States Navy and retired from U.S. Tobacco. He was a 40-year member of the Lindale Masonic Lodge #848 and was also a member of Scottish Rite and the First Baptist Church Lindale. Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Cari DeLynn Crowell and brother, Herman Odor Crowell. Don is survived by his 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Craig A. and Karen Crowell; Cory D. and Angela Crowell and Cris D. Crowell, all of Lindale, Texas. 6 grandchildren and spouses: Brittany & Zane Brown; Seth & Megan Crowell; Courtney & Chris Sorrell; Caitlin Crowell; Christopher Crowell & Katie Chance; and Cheyenne Crowe;; and 5 great-grandchildren: Jackson Crowell; Lawson Sorrell; Zoe Brown; Owen Crowell and Wylder Crowell. Serving as pallbearers were Sam Ferguson, Kerry Hamblet, Dean Childers, Charles Lane, John Holey, Bill Summerville and Lee Jeans. Honorary pallbearer was Jimmy McKay. Memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas Homeplace, Tyler, Texas or St. Jude's Hospital.
