The Denison Press Friday, September 10, 1954 pg. 6 Funeral services for Fred Albert Cordell, 61, of 731 W. Murray, were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel Wednesday, September 1 with Rev. Glenn Hayden officiating. Burial was in Cedarlawn Cemetery. Cordell died in a local hospital Monday, August 30, after 8 months of illness. He was born in Buck Holt, Texas, January 22, 1892. He was married to Mrs. Ida Hudson in 1912. A farmer and a blacksmith, Cordell also operated a service station at 1324 S. Armstrong. He was a member of the Methodist church. Survivors include his widow; two sons, Fred of Newport and Elmer of Denison; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Farmer of Odessa and Mrs. Bonnie Taylor of Denison; a brother, Ollie Cordell, of Duncan, Oklahoma; four sisters, Mrs. Frank Myers of Platter, Oklahoma; Mrs. Tommie Lowe of Ardmore; Mrs. H.A. Barber and Mrs. Henry Rice, both of Ada, Oklahoma; and 11 grandchildren.
