Berg of Route 4, Denison, 55-year-old rancher who died Tuesday at his home, were held Thursday morning in Johnson-Morrow Funeral Chapel. Dr, Tom Peel of Waples Memorial United Methodist Church officiated and burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Berg was born in Lee, Illinois, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Laverne Berg, and was a U.S. Air Force cadet. He married Mary Pennell on June 30, 1961 in Perrin Air Force Base Chapel. He served as a fighter pilot with the U.S. Air Force on Formosa and was formerly stationed at Perrin Air Force Base. He retired in 1969 with the rank of Major. He was a Lutheran and a member of the Retired Officers Association. Surviving are his wife; sons, Harold Peter Berg of Dallas and Michael Duane Berg of Norfolk, Virginia; daughters, Suzanne Louise Berg of Dallas and Elizabeth Ann Berg of Colorado Springs, Colorado; mother, Mildred Berg of Denison; sisters, Maxine King of Sterling, Illinois and Luella Graham of Denison; and 2 grandchildren.
