Established 1948 Services for Jerry Bentley were be held Thursday morning, March 7, 2013 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Pastor David Murphy of North Park Baptist Church officiating. Funeral honors were provided by the Ft. Hood Honor Guard, Killeen, Texas. Jerry was born August 15, 1945 in Sherman, Texas, son of J.R. and Alma Pierce Bentley and passed from this life on Monday, March 4, 2013 at his home in Sherman. Jerry was raised and lived in Sherman most of his life. He enlisted in the Army in December of 1963 and was honorably discharged in November of 1966 and spent 2 years in Germany. Jerry married Carol Skipworth, on March 19, 1969 in Sherman. Jerry started his employment in 1971 with Anderson Clayton and Kraft, which is now AGP, working with the company 29 years before retiring in 2000. Jerry enjoyed working in his garden and being outdoors. He loved being with his grandchildren and spending time with family. Jerry was preceded in death by his father J.R. Bentley. He is survived by his wife of Sherman; daughters, Tammie Owens and Jennie Rolen and husband, Chad; son, Steven Bentley and wife, Thayer, of Carrollton; grandchildren, Taylor Ellison and husband, Joshua; Katelyn Carney and husband, Tommy; Amanda Bentley and husband, Charles; Andrew Bentley; and Case Rolen, all of Sherman; Karis and Mason Bentley of Carrollton; great-grandchildren, Brylee, Brock, Jay, C.J., and Emaleigh; mother, Alma Bentley of Sherman; brothers, Richard Bentley of Austin; Bill Bentley and wife, Starr, of McKinney; and Mike Bentley and wife, Jackie Sue, of Whitesboro; special nephew, David Mullins, of Sherman; and several other nieces, nephews and many friends. - - - Waldo Funeral Home Cedarlawn Cemetery Susan Hawkins © 2024 If you find any of Grayson County TXGenWeb links inoperable, please send me a message. |
