Established 1948    Joan C. Bankston 1934 - 2009 Marvin D. Bankston 1936 - 2015 U.S. Marine Corps   Sherman - Marvin Dale Bankston, 79, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Marvin was born May 15, 1936 in Marion, Illinois, son of Loice Orland and Trula Mae Graves Bankston. Marvin graduated from high school in Illinois and attended college at Southern Illinois University for 2 years. Marvin served his country during his time in the Marine Corps. Marvin had a passion for life and enjoyed spending time outside, whether running or racing his motorcycles. He was a very talented artist and he was rewarded with a scholarship for college. Marvin married the love of his life, Joan Booker, in November 1969 in Illinois and they remained together until her passing. Marvin and Joan had a passion and a great love for their dogs, which they held in their hearts as dear as family. Marvin is survived by his childre, Jeff Booker of Lansing, Illinois; Gary Booker and wife, Jolene, of Spring, Texas; Scott Booker and wife, Tina; Dean Booker of Cedar Lake, Indiana; Jill Nelson and husband, Joe, of Boerne, Texas; Eric Bankston and wife, Stephanie, of Denison, Texas;12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Howell of New Tazewell, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and daughter-in-law, Darlene Booker. Graveside memorial service was held Saturday afternoon, June 20, 2015 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas with The Very Rev.
