Established 1948 Sherman - Jack Eugene Baker, 87, of Sherman passed away Monday, September 5th at UT Southwestern Hospital, Dallas, Texas. Private graveside services were held at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Funeral services were held Friday, September 9 at Fairview Baptist Church. Rev. Chris Moses of the church officiated. Jack was born December 16, 1928 in Randolph, Iowa to Brent Baker and Perl Hatcher Baker. He served in the military during World War II. In 1988 he married Ella Louise Hall Burleson. He was a longtime member and deacon of Fairview Baptist Church and served as maintenance superintendent at the church for many years. He loved music, was a talented guitarist and frequently played for the Senior Citizens Center and area nursing homes. Jack was a faithful husband and caregiver for Ella for many years and always cared for her with a contagious smile, despite his own health problems. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by sons, Jerry and Jackie Baker of California; Larry Burleson of Sherman; Tommy Burleson and wife, Charlotte, of Dallas; daughters, Sherry Wynne and husband, Mike, of Sherman; Debbie Teague and husband, Pat, of Frisco. Jack was predeceased by a daughter and siblings. Other family members who survived are grandchildren, Wesley Wynne and wife, Lindsey; Thomas Wynne; Rachel Wynne Cain and husband, Jay; Tiffany Teague Turpin and husband, John; Ashley Teague Seitz and husband, Bobby; Brian Burleson and Justin Burleson and wife, McKinsey; and Bradley and Clifford Burleson. Great-grandchildren: Michael and Matthew Wynne; Luke, Patrick and Stella Turpin; Thomas and Elle Burleson. Pallbearers were grandsons, Wesley and Thomas Wynne; Jay Cain, Brian and Justin Burleson, and John Turpin. If desired, memorials may be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County at 505 W.
