Ma y 16-17, 2010 Malcolm Rankin "Bud" Blanton was born July 17, 1915 in Dimmitt, Texas, son of George and Viola Blanton. He died Thursday, May 13, 2010 in Dallas, Texas. He served in the Pacific with the Navy Seabees during World War II and afterwards traveled the world with The Flour Corporation. Bud married the love of his life, longtime Plainview resident, the late Lilla Mae Smith, in 1987. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Blanton; his great-granddaughter, Kimberlie Jersa of Houston; 2 granddaughters; his sister, Evelyn Blanton Whitesides of Tucumcari, New Mexico; and many loving nephews and nieces. His military funeral was held Saturday noon, May 15, 2010 at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Sherman, Texas.
