Adams 1908 - 1994 Sherman Democrat Wednesday February 23, 1994 VAN ALSTYNE -- James Hoyle Adams of Van Alstyne died Monday at Wilson N. Jones Hospital. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman with Tom Haddock officiating. Flesher Funeral Home of Van Alstyne had charge of arrangements. Mr. Adams was born in Lewisburg, Tennessee, the son of Hershell Adams and Virgie Freeman Adams. He married Laura Lavell Phillips June 3, 1939. He was a retired machinist and a Baptist. Surviving are his wife; and sisters, Louise Wallace and Kathleen Thomas, both of Denison.
