July 31, 1980 pg21 Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Dannel and Horton Chapel for Cecil D. "Sam" Adams, 65, retired Anderson Clayton supervisor, who died Wednesday in a Sherman hospital. Rev. Sid Hunter of Calvary Baptist Church officiated, assisted by Dr. Don A. Wood of Fairview Baptist Church. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Born at Bells, he was the son of John and Hanna Isom Adams. He attended Bells public schools and was married to Oleta Forehand April 29, 1944, in Sherman. He had been a resident of Sherman 36 years, having moved here from Bells. He was an army veteran of World War II, a member of Travis Masonic Lodge 117, and a member of Blanton Chapel Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife; son, Ronald Adams of Sherman; sister, Mrs. E.L. Buchanan of Sherman; and one granddaughter. Pallbearers were H.A. Belew, Vernon Pickett, Charlie Wall, John Moseley, Doyal Garland and Merle Johnson. If desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
