The Denison Press Friday, December 21, 1951 pg. 10 Funeral services were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel Monday afternoon, December 17, at 2 o'clock for Mortimer Amex Alexander, 30, who died in the Veterans Hospital in McKinney Saturday morning after a long illness. He had been in the hospital 12 weeks. Rev. Ed Bayless officiated at the service and burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Bratcher-Moore, f uneral directors, in charge. Alexander was born in Selma, Alabama and received his early education there. He also attended Denison Commercial College. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the American Legion. He lived with his mother at 705 W. Gandy. Survivors include his mother; 4 brothers, Byron of Houston; Erwin of Lufkin; Joseph M. of Charlotte, South Carolina; and Lt. William T. of Roswell, New Mexico; 8 sisters, Mrs. Finley Hale of Whitewright; Mrs. Robert Simmons and Mrs. Russell Rowell of Selma, Alabama; Mrs. W.J. Mathis of Birmingham, Alabama; Mrs. D.E. Norwood of Waco; Mrs. Minnie Lee Frazee and Miss Rebecca Alexander of Denison.
