Established 1948   Larry D. Ray 1945 - 2011 Vickie A. Ray 1956 -   Sherman- Funeral services for Larry David Ray will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday August 13 at the Pathway Church of God. Rev. Bill Lee and Rev. Donnie Russell will officiate with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Greg Roberts, Rick Lee, Jimmy Lee, Eddie Ring, Archie Shearer and D.W. Russell serving as pallbearers. Mr. Ray, 65, passed away Tuesday, August 9 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ. Larry was born October 28, 1945 in Connersville, Indiana to the late Earl Ray and Virginia Rowe. He graduated from Laurel Indiana High School. Following high school he served in the US Army. On June 14, 1974, Larry and Vickie Lee were married in Connersville. They moved to Sherman and Mr. Ray worked for twenty years at Libby Owens Ford. He also worked several years at the Lazy L RV Park. Larry was an active member of the Pathway Church of God. He enjoyed woodworking and had a love for classic cars. He was especially proud of his 1991 Corvette. Mr. Ray is survived by his wife of 37 years, Vickie of Sherman; one daughter, Danielle White and her husband Robby of Van Alstyne; one son, Brandon Ray of Dallas; two grandchildren, Taylor and Macy White of Van Alstyne; two sisters, Donna Bates and Joyce Whittaker, both of Shelbyville, Indiana; father-in-law, Rev. Bill Lee and wife Elaine of Sherman; two brothers-in-law, Rick Lee and his wife Kristi and James Lee, all of Sherman; sister-in-law, Sharon Roberts and her husband Greg of Whitesboro; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Brice Lee. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Waldo Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Pathway Church of God at 2001 E. Lamar, Sherman, TX 75090.
