Tuesday, November 27, 1973 Denison--Services for Mrs. Media [sic] Thomas, 88, housewife who died Monday at a Sherman rest home, were held Wednesday afternoon at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. C. J. Graves. Burial was at Cedar Mills Cemetery. Surviving are sons, Ray Burden of Brownfield and Ometa Burden of Denison; step-son, Loyd Thomas of Pottsboro, daughters, Mrs. Gillie Noble of Snyder, Oklahoma, Mrs. Lena Brock of Whitesboro; Mrs. Agatha Bentley of Dallas; Mrs. Harriett Cook of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Jowanna Monroe of Dallas; and Mrs. Floy Lewis of Pottsboro; step-daughters, Mrs. Cordelia Fulenchek of Denison and Mrs. Juanita Moon of Pottsboro. Denison - Finis Luford "F.L." Burden, 81, of Denison, Texas passed away on March 15, 2014 at his farm in Bells.
F.L. was born July 16, 1932 in Gordonville, Texas, son of Orvil "O.O." and Martha Jane Short Burden. F.L. started Burden and Williams Plumbing in Denison in 1963. He retired in 1998 from B urden Plumbing to enjoy what he loved most, fishing and farming. F.L. is survived by 6 children: Larry B urden and Barbara of Bells; Rodney Burden and Mary Jane of Denison; Steven Burden and Cathey of Liberty Eylau, T exas; Ginger Brawley and Ken of Denison; Clay Burden and Terri of Smithland, Texas; Sharon Corbett and Shane of Colbert, Oklahoma. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Mary Joplin. F.L. was preceded in death by his pa rents; son, Orville Dale B urden; sister, Martha Gail Burden and brother, Galen Burden. A graveside service w as held on Wednesday afternoon at Cedar Mills Cemetery in Gordonville. Pallbearers were his grandsons: Larry Don Burden; Omega Burden; Steven Zane Burden; Dustin Burden; Bradley Burden; Blaine Brawley; Logan Corbett; and Carson Burden. Memorials may be made in F.L.'s name to the Denison Public Library. Arrangements were under the direction of Jo hnson-MOore Funeral Home.
