The Denison Press Monday, May 29, 1939 pg. 1 DENISON MAN FATALLY HURT IN CAR MISHAP County officers, city police and state highway patrolmen today were hunting for a hit and run driver who allegedly struck and fatally injured Dan O'Conner, 65, in the 900 block of East Texas street early Sunday morning. Judge M.M. Scholl, after an inquest, said O'Conner evidently had his skull fractured by a blow when hit by a car. O'Conner was found dying at the accident scene shortly after 1:30 a.m. and died in the city hospital at 2 a.m. Meager description of the alleged death car was received by neighbors close to where O'Conner was struck. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Patrick's church with Rev. B.J. Deeney officiating. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery, Short-Murray directing. He was a member of St. Patrick's church and Woodmen of the World. Surviving are his nieces and nephews, Mrs. Julia LaGross of Ft. Worth; Mrs. Genieve Miles of Tulsa; John O'Conner Colorado Springs, Colorado; Dan O'Conner, Jim O'Conner, Mrs. Mary Dalton, Miss Josephine O'Conner, and Mrs. Catherine Wilburn, all of Ft. Worth.
