Denison Daily News July 1879 All that was mortal of Charley Moulton was laid to rest yesterday morning in the cemetery. Charley Moulton was one of the first to settle in Denison, and his death is deserving of more than passing mention. He was intimately known to the writer for the past five years. His brother was our boon companion on the Union Pacific R.R., when that road was being built from the Missouri river to the Pacific slope. When Mr. Moulton came to Denison he was in the flush of bodily health and vigor, and it was only during the past twelve months that his health commenced to fail, which ended in his death Sunday, just as the sun was crossing the meridian. Mr. Moulton came to Denison, we believe, with John McDougall, and has ever since been in the employe of that gentleman as barkeeper at the Bank Exchange. He struggled bravely before striking his colors to the grim monster Death, being hopeful almost to the last that he should recover. Deceased leaves a wife and four children. The remains were followed to the grave by a large number of friends.
