The Denison Press Thursday, April 3, 1941 pg. 1 A native of Cecilia, Italy, Tony Marsala, 67, resident of Denison 25 years and former shoe shop operator, died Tuesday at a local hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Rev. B.J. Deeney officiating. Interment will be at Calvary cemetery, Short-Murray directing. Pallbearers will be George Hoey, George Hinds, W.J. Steen, D. Vick, C.A. Johnson, and J.A. Williamson. Mr. Marsala was born at Cecilia March 25, 1874 and came to the United States 35 years ago where he became a naturalized citizen. Following employment of several years on section crews of the Frisco railway, he accepted employment with the Inzenga shoe shop and two years later opened his own shop at 113 N. Austin avenue. He was unmarried, a member of the Catholic church and a former member of the Eagles Lodge here. A brother, Joe, of Durkee, Oregon, survives.
