Joe Fritz 1862 - 1938 Julia Fritz 1862 - 1938 The Denison Press Monday, June 27, 1938 pg. 1 Mrs. Joe Fritz, 75, Dies Sunday Night Mrs. Joe Kerner Fritz, 75, died 9:30 Sunday night following three week's illness, at her Route 3 home, the Greenwood Fruit Farm. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1862, Mrs. Fritz came to Texas in 1884. On October 22, 1884 she was married to Joe Fritz in Denison. Mrs. Fritz was choir leader in St. Patrick's Catholic church until St. Joseph's church was established in 1907 and then she took up her work in that church and continued until ill health forced her retirement. She was a member of the Altar Society and the ladies auxiliary to the B. of L.E. Mrs. Fritz is survived by her husband; two brothers, Henry Kerner and George Kerner of New Orleans; and three nieces, Mrs. John Dilg, Terra Huate, Indiana; and Mrs. Claude Calling and Mrs. R.V. Shirley, both of Dallas. Rosary services will be held tonight at 8 o'clock in the Short-Murray chapel. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph church with Father Patrick McNee officiating. Interment will be made in Calvary cemetery with Short-Murray directing. JOSEPH'S CHURCH The funeral of Joe Fritz, retired railroad man who was found dead Monday afternoon, is to be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock in the St. Joseph Church with Rev. Patrick McManee officiating. Surviving relatives attending the funeral will be nieces Mrs. Rose Canterbury of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Mrs. J.D. Jennings of Portland, Oregon; and Mrs. R.V. Shirley of Dallas, who will be accompanied by her husband; nephews, Herman Fritz of Houston and August Fritz of Dallas. Mrs. Frank Miesch of Clarksville will also attend the funeral.
