The Denison Press Friday, October 27, 1944 pg. 8 Mrs. Augusta Hock, 68, native of Germany and resident of Denison 40 years, died Sunday at 4 a.m. at her home, 516 East Maple Row. She had been ill two years. Mrs. Hock was born in Germany October 5, 1876, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stufferrusci. She was reared and educated there, and at the age of eighteen came to the United States alone, landing in New York. After living in New York for a short time, she moved to Bryan, Texas, and there married Henry Hock. They moved to Denison shortly after. Mr. Hock died here February 3, 1929. Surviving are four sons, Henry Hock, Lincoln, Nebraska; and Martin, Joe, and August Hock, all of Denison; six daughters, Mrs. Maggie Cline, Humble; Mrs. Johanna Winkler, Gladewater; Sister Anthony, Ursuline Academy, Dallas and Mrs. Mary Blanke and Miss Madeline Hock, Denison; 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the home of Mrs. Blanke, 105 East Morton, where a rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. Mrs. Hock was a Catholic. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. Father Thomac Zachary, pastor, in charge. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Short-Murray, funeral directors, in charge.
